Why Hipobuy tracking has not updated

A quiet tracker after export is usually a handoff gap, not proof the parcel vanished. This page separates seller-to-warehouse progress from international trajectory, lists where scans usually pause, and gives you a calm checklist before you open a support ticket.

The short answer

After you pay international freight, Hipobuy (or the line you chose) usually shows a tracking number. Gaps of several days—especially after the China export scan, or while a destination postal network takes over—are common on economy and hybrid lines. No new scan does not mean the parcel is lost.

Two different “tracking” problems

Most panic comes from mixing warehouse waiting with international scans.
What people call “tracking”What it actually isWhere to look
Seller → warehouseThe domestic move after you paid the item stage; QC photos come nextOrder / warehouse status in Hipobuy — not the international tracker
International trajectoryScans after you paid freight and the parcel left the warehouseParcel detail in Hipobuy plus the carrier or destination postal site

Seller to warehouse and QC upload are covered in how to buy and QC photos. International trajectory only starts after you submit and pay for the parcel.

Where international tracking usually pauses

  • Export and airline segment: the parcel moves between hubs without a public scan every day.
  • Customs: the status can sit still while paperwork or inspection finishes. Duties or ID requests can also stall the next scan.
  • Last-mile handoff: the Hipobuy or line tracker can lag behind the destination country’s own postal site.
  • Weekends and peak season: fewer scans get published even when the box is moving.

Express lines tend to publish denser scans; cheaper lines trade price for quieter trackers. That trade-off is part of choosing a line in the shipping guide—it is not a bug unique to spreadsheet orders.

A calm checklist before you panic

  1. Open the parcel detail inside Hipobuy and copy the live tracking number, not an old screenshot.
  2. Paste that same number into the carrier site and, if needed, the destination postal tracker.
  3. Confirm you are looking at international status—not a warehouse item that has not shipped yet.
  4. Compare the elapsed time to the window shown when you chose the line. Windows vary by route; we do not invent a fixed “always X days” table.
  5. If you are clearly past that window with zero movement on every tracker, contact Hipobuy support with your order ID and screenshots.

Common mistakes

  • Refreshing only the Hipobuy interface and never the carrier tracker
  • Calling a warehouse item in Stored status “lost in transit”
  • Comparing economy silence to a friend’s express scan density
  • Opening a ticket with no tracking number or the wrong order ID
