What a shipping coupon actually discounts

Most vouchers you meet at parcel submit target international freight, not the Weidian or Taobao item price you already paid. Seasonal campaigns sometimes add shopping-side credits too—read the label in your coupon center, not a Discord screenshot.

Directory ~$ cells never include your coupon balance. Apply the voucher when you submit the parcel inside Hipobuy, then re-read the freight line before you confirm.

When to apply it (order of operations)

1. Finish warehouse QC and decide what leaves China.
2. Build the parcel (remove boxes or choose packing options if that is your plan) so the weight class is close to final.
3. Open shipping checkout—this is where eligible vouchers and coupon fields usually appear.
4. Pick the line first, then the coupon. A voucher that works on one route can be greyed out on another.

Why a coupon is greyed out or missing

Before assuming the site is broken, check these in order:

• Wrong stage: you are still on the item-pay screen, not parcel submit.
• Shipping-only vs shopping: the voucher does not apply to the cost layer you are paying.
• Minimum spend: the freight (or haul total) is under the threshold printed on the coupon.
• Line or region lock: the coupon excludes the carrier or destination you selected.
• Expired or single-use: the code already burned or timed out in your wallet.

Thresholds and welcome packs (without inventing codes)

New-user packs are often described as tiered shipping discounts: a smaller amount off mid-sized hauls, a larger amount off big ones. The exact dollar bands and promo strings change. We do not publish live codes here because they expire and third-party lists go stale within days.

• Shipping coupons do not cancel item-stage FX. Budget both layers in Fees & FX.
• Event chests and seasonal drops are time-boxed. Treat them as optional extras, not a permanent “Hipobuy always gives $X off.”

Common mistakes

• Applying a shopping voucher and expecting the freight to drop
• Screenshotting a Discord code and trying it months later
• Paying freight before checking the coupon field
• Forgetting that the post-coupon total still excludes destination duties
